A Facebook client, Hope Ekong dropped her recent street project, as she extends hands to vulnerable children on the street.
In her recent post Hope gave account of how she was in contact with some children and drop inspiring message to others to follow suit. Read excerpt below.
Lord I’m grateful….. Lord I’m humbled .
Let me drop this here.
Love IN the street
By Hope Ekong, inspired by street.
Your apron maybe his best clothes..
Through his eyes I saw the world
For indeed it had seen it all,
The good, the bad and the scary.
He was hungry ,though there are eateries on the street that served as home
He went straight to the trash can, there he found meal that irritates him yet he needs it to survive. In one hand he grabbed it and the other he wiped his eyes.
There where no tears of joy but of fear.
What if I get sick from eating this. What if I never wake up, will someone miss me?
Maybe death will pay better for I have no use to the world.
While washing the fear of the night away with his tears, he looked through the window, yes the one in his shirt. From which the harsh cold breeze entered, it hurt so much but nobody cares, he saw another child without a shirt shivering with rivers flowing down his cheek.. He ran through the kitchen and then the back door, took off his shirt and cloth the child for he thought he was better off.
Now this is love.
Listen up child, you are wonderfully made
Every miracle of waking up is an assurance that help will come.
You’re beautiful on the inside but then
if you can’t see anything beautiful about yourself
Get a mirror from the trash of treasures
get a better mirror
look a little closer
stare a little longer
because there’s something inside you
that made you keep trying
despite everyone who told you to quit
you built a cast around your broken heart
and signed it yourself
you signed it
“they were wrong, I’ll make it through.”
Love IN the street was a success!!!!
Thank you KEON
